Dr Madeleine King appointed ISOQOL President

CHERE’S Biostatistician Dr Madeleine King, took office as President  of the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL) at a meeting of the ISOQOL board in Lisbon, in October 2006.  This is the first time an Australian has been elected to the Presidency. Previously Madeleine served on the ISOQOL Board 2002-2004 and chaired the Scientific Program Committee for ISOQOL’s 11th Annual Scientific Meeting in Hong Kong 2004.

During her presidency, which runs for 12 months, Madeleine hopes to broaden ISOQOL’s international focus.

Following her appointment Madeleine attended the ISOQOL Annual Scientific Meeting and presented CHERE research on Asthma DCE and the vexing issue of how to measure quality of life in dementia.
