CHERE staff appointments

Professor Jane Hall, Director of CHERE has been elected President of the International Health Economics Association governing board (iHEA), for the term 2006 – 2007. Professor Hall is iHEA’s first President from outside of Europe/North America and the Association’s first female President.

Professor Hall has also been elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia. Fellows of the Academy are elected by their peers on the basis of having achieved a very high level of scholarly distinction and for having made a distinguished contribution to one or more disciplines of the social sciences.

Dr Madeleine King, Biostatistician is President of the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL). This is the first time an Australian has been elected to the Presidency. Previously Dr King served on the ISOQOL Board 2002-2004 and chaired the Scientific Program Committee for ISOQOL’s 11th Annual Scientific Meeting in Hong Kong 2004.
